11.4 |
Can I add Extended Desktop capability to my PC?
Laptops No. Some have built-in Extended Desktop capabilities, it depends on their chipset/firmware.
Desktop PCs Yes. You need a graphics video card of the right type for the computer (It may be a PCI, AGP or PCI-E card). Another solution for a second output is a dual head video card. Matrox G400, G450 and G550 cards or nVidia GeForce cards use DualHead technology, allowing a second monitor to be run from a second video port on the same video card.
Note: Many graphics cards have a DVI socket for the second port - you will need to get a DVI to VGA (HDD15 D-Sub female) adapter to connect your VGA cable
If you go with Matrox's dual-headed video adapter for your extended desktop, you'll need to take steps to get that second monitor working. Here's how:
First, make sure you have installed the latest video drivers and companion utilities (Matrox cards use
PowerDesk software).
Next, go to 'Start ->Settings ->Control Panel ->Display->Settings->Advanced.
Click the DualHead tab and select DualHead Multi-Display.
Click Apply, click OK, and then reboot the computer.
Return to the Settings tab in the Display properties dialog.
You'll see a picture of two monitors. Select the second monitor.
Windows will ask 'Do you wish to extend your Windows desktop to your secondary monitor?'. Answer Yes.
Set the resolution and colour palette, then click Apply.
When you click OK to accept the changes, your extended desktop should be functioning properly.
In SongPro select 'View->Options->Hardware', then click 'OK' to update SongPro.
You can learn more about DualHead technology at
Matrox.com or nVidia.com

How do I merge two or more databases together without overwriting any data?
1) Run SongPro, then use 'File->Open Database' and open the database you wish to merge from,
now select 'File-Export'
(call it e.g merged.txt)
2) Now within SongPro again use 'File->Open Database' and open the database you
wish to merge to, select 'File-Import-Normal'
(e.g merged.txt)
If any duplicates are imported it will generate a duplicate report and not add them.
So the database you now have open is now the merged
database, re-name it if you wish using "File->Save as".
Please note: we recommend to save and keep all your databases and service plans in the default "Users/Public/SongPro" folder so that everything is in the same place and has relevant Windows permissions for creating, saving and editing.
